Some soggy summer season cameos !

Spring got off to a great start with the Garden fete on the 19th May, raising over ú1,000 for church funds. Then on the 25th May a small group received invitations and attended the Golden Jubilee celebration service at Coventry Cathedral, attended by the Archbishop of Canterbury and The Princess Royal.

In the same week ,Margaret was admitted as Church Warden at a service at Holy Trinity, Coventry.

On the long awaited Trinity Sunday in June, we were able to welcome The Rev'd. Canon George Warner and a large number of guests to the service of
praise and dedication of our re-furbished porch. Afterwards enjoying a lunch led by members of the social committee.

"Songs of Praise", recorded at Coventry cathedral was transmitted in June and September. It was fun trying to spot some of our congregation who attended.

Shortly afterwards, a group enjoyed another evening meal at Seasons Restaurant. These are very enjoyable occasions and many thanks to Elizabeth P. who organises this event. The next one will be in October.

Although we were not running, it was exciting to see the Olympic flame being carried through Leamington on July 2ndĽ in brilliant sunshine. A very happy time for everybody.

Gift Day came along and was celebrated with a lovely Strawberry tea at Margaret and Rolfe's. As usual lots of lovely teatime treats where we indulged ourselves sitting in their nice garden in the sunshine! Many thanks to both of them for the hard work. Many thanks to all members of our congregation who gave, yet again to the ministry of our church.

Margaret was being optimistic when she advertised her Buffet lunch in her garden in August.! The rain came down but it didn't dampen the enthusiastic guests who found a welcome in the house! Many thanks to all who came and those of the social committee who worked hard on the day.

Then at 3.10pm on Thursday 2nd August, our porch was declared complete. Months of work had gone into this and, thanks to our generous congregation, at last we have an entrance of which we can be proud.

There have been two PCC meetings since the last Trinity Times - in May and July.

At the May meeting members heard from our Treasurer" Kathleen G.-that spending to date was ú3,,000 over the budget figure - owing largely to heavy winter fuel bills.

The main topic of discussion was" of course, our Jubilee Project - the dedication of the new porch by canon George Warner" which took place on Trinity Sunday (June 23rd).

We were reminded of jollifications to come - another Fellowship Supper on June 14th, Gift Day and Strawberry Tea in July, and the Summer Buffet Lunch at Margaret M.'s on August 4th.

At the July meeting we looked back. at some of the above" and everyone concerned was heartily thanked for their hard work and dedication. And those who had come along and supported were thanked as well.

The exhibition of art by Warwickshire Artists had been extremely successful, and drawn quite a few new visitors to the church.

Friday September 7th - church was open all day for the Heritage Weekend; Saturday" September 8th - church open an day for Ride and Stride and Heritage, and in the evening~ Harvest Supper on Sunday, September 9th
